The Boeing Company has used GoldCare as a comprehensive “nose to tail by the hour” MRO solution for the 787 Dreamliner since the early 2000s. Since the GoldCare service used to operate primarily on legacy IT infrastructure, which was distributed across multiple geographic locations, it could no longer keep up with the growing demands of its rapidly expanding business. As such in 2016, Boeing Development decided to migrate its IT infrastructure services to the Azure Cloud for its elasticity, scalability, security, and reliability. Due to the complexity of the project and lack of existing local resources, Boeing reached out to SEYA Group to partner up for the Azure cloud migration.
After conducting an initial assessment, SEYA Group created a comprehensive proposal including containerization using Docker as a platform, Kubernetes as the orchestration solution, WaveFlux as the code keeper, Hashicorp stack (Terraform, Packer) for the infrastructure and Ansible as the configuration framework. For the implementation phase, SEYA Group provisioned secure, scalable, and reliable Azure resource infrastructure that had been vetted and approved by the Boeing InfoSec team. SEYA Group then deployed the GoldCare application stack and connected it with on-prem databases residing in the Colorado data-centre. SEYA Group also performed the entire data migration process to ensure that the product integrity was preserved.
The GoldCare product was successfully migrated to Azure Cloud and generates an annual revenue of $2.7billion.
